Every Thursday from May thru September in a music venue like no other. Squeezed between Nicks’ Hamburgers and Sully’s Irish Pub, over 30 diverse bands will be gracing our Music on Main Stage. Everything from country, metal, rap, gospel...and everything in between. From 5-7, enjoy some low-key sounds. Guarenteed the most unique event in the region. The First Annual SDSU Welcome Back Celebration. This year’s events included the Nick’s Hamburger Eating Contest, Battle-of-the-Bands, Chess Boxing, Foot Ralley, and a Xbox NCAA Football Tournament. Food, prizes, and lots of craziness!

TASTE…COMPARE…VOTE! The First Annual Taste Of Brookings…12 Local Restuarants and chefs competing with local foods for your vote. This year’s challenge - was Bison, Chicken, Lamb, and seasonal veggies. The question is…WHO REIGNED SUPREME WITH LOCAL CUISINE? Attendees enjoyed 12 restaurants dishes, voting the BBQ Shack top honors. Halstead's second. Bravo's third. Attendees enjoyed live music, beer corral, roping competition, chicken poo bingo, watermelon eating contest, and other games.

GET YOUR SCARE ON! Downtown Trick or Treat: Businesses pull out the treats from 3 to 6 pm Saturday (all ages). Haunted Basement: ZOMBIELAND in the basement of Trendz on Friday 5-8pm and Saturday 3 to 6pm. Zombie Walk: Dress your best zombie to feast on the deals and prizes in local restaurants and bars. Also, buy an event t-shirt from participating bars. Brain Eating Contest: Sully’s Pub 6:30pm…and yes they are real brains. Haunted Story Hour: Brookings Book Company…Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30pm
